Sara and her family have been on the blog before, their family is one I treasure so much. I’ve photographed Grace’s newborn session, her birthday, their extended family session, as well as many sessions from their generous referrals.

Today we’re looking at Sara’s maternity session. That’s right, baby number 2 is on the way! I think I squealed when she emailed me the news!

Whenever a client books with me, I want to know about their vision. I want to do anything I can to make their session enjoyable, relaxing, and I want to produce images that exceed their wildest dreams. I know Sara well enough to know she is very inspired by neutral palettes. She is drawn to Joanna Gaines style, simple, rustic, earthy, beautiful.

I already know her family is so relaxed in front of the camera. Not all clients are, and that’s alright too. That’s my job, to pose you in ways that not only look relaxed, but also help you feel comfortable. For Sara and Thomas, their love shines through. They just let their natural emotion shine, and I love capturing it!

Graye’s Greenhouse in Plymouth was the perfect backdrop for her. From what I knew of them, they are a small family run business, that works hard to produce amazing plants for their customers. I got to watch in person as they were cutting plants down to replant and grow new ones. All by hand, it was incredible to watch. I personally don’t have a green thumb, so it was pretty cool to see.

Sara and I carefully coordinated outfits, bringing a little glam to the earthy scene. Sara wore a dress from her closet and Grace wore one from my client closet. They came together perfectly in the parking lot of the greenhouse, as if we’d spent an eternity planning.

Their little girl Grace cared less about being in photos than she did playing hide and seek with the resident kitties.
